Living with water in Treviso

Living with water in Treviso

Proceeding with the dissemination and consultation phase, the third and final phase of the research Veneto 2100 : Living with water, the installation and the research material displayed in 2012 at the 5th International Architecture Biennale of Rotterdam (IABR) are being exhibited again. This time in Treviso at the Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche (Benetton Foundation), in the exhibition ‘Veneto 2100: Living with water’, open from the 9th until the 23rd of March 2013.

Following the exhibition at the Central Civic Library of Verona, which focused on the case study of the Verona Region, we this time display the scenario on the Treviso area – more specifically the Piave River High Plains. The scenario is being proposed to the local communities to instigate debate and gather their feed-back.

In this case, the main issue put forward by the scenario is the necessity to raise awareness about the latent, but increasing, hydro-geological vulnerability affecting the territory in order to avoid the risk of disasters. At present, even if local experts and institutions are already aware of the threats derived from hydraulic problems in the Piave River water system, the strong social frictions are still delaying the attainment of shared solutions.

Next, the exhibition will travel to Rovigo.
